These types of services can be held weeks or months after the death and take place in a church, the funeral home, a community hall, or somewhere of importance to the deceased and their family.

A celebration of life focuses on incorporating the personality, achievements, and unique life journey of the deceased into the services themselves. There's more room for creativity, and since these celebrations are commonly held after the individual's physical remains have been cared for through burial or cremation, there is much more time available to plan the event.
